During the investigation of his last case, before retiring, the chief detective triller, Blood Work, FBI Agent Terry McCaleb, was able to follow a dangerous criminal who was being chased for a long time. But because of the serious heart problems, McCaleb failed to capture him. After a heavy heart transplant operation, he retired and lived quietly and peacefully on his boat working as a private investigator.

The extended life of a former FBI agent violates the visit of a young woman, Grasiela Rivers, who asked to investigate the murder of her sister, whose heart gave Terri a new life. Feeling obligated Terry to investigate this case, and soon finds out that the murderer of sister Graciela might be the criminal he's been trying to catch for so long.
